We had a terrible experience with CYC Movers. Several issues through the process from sales to operations which may be a sign of more deep issues in their organization.
We choosed the packing service, plus moving to storage and moving then to our new location when we get the TOP. Assessement was done by CYC and we requested a lump sum . However nothing happened as per planed.
1) Their quotation is online and can be modified without us receiving a pdf copy. We were submitted a first quote, then a second quote that make the first one disappeared. I had to approve a quote without all the price clearly stated. When i looked back, 2 lines items were added to the quotation after i signed up! When asked, [Name removed by Sirelo] mentioned that there was only 1 quotation that was submitted however there was communication by email, so i could prove it was not the case.
2) quotation was confusing. There is line item with number of boxes (Brand new carton box (56 x 46 x 46cm) ..Up to 30). It is however not mentioned what is the service with these boxes ( provision? transportation? ). What is even more confusing is when choosing the packing it is written '(includes provision of all required carton boxes and packing materials)'. Reading it, i understand that when you select the packing service, their offer is to provide the required number of box . What we found out, is that they are charging to move any additional box over the one they assessed. You hear me well! they provide you with the box, but either you move them by yourself to their truck , or you pay extra!
3) we later found out that the boxes were not fully filled. As a result we ended up with 50% more boxes, so CYC told us they will charge extra to move the box to their truck (around 4-5sgd per boxes additional), they will charge extra for the storage, they will charge extra to move to our new location. Simple, client is to pay for their incompetence.
5) Argument occurred on the cost of the storage. we saw it in the first quotation but was not selected in the second quotation . While the mover were finishing packing, we were told to find our own storage if we were not happy with the price now showing in the quotation. We had to find on the spot a new storage location, get it organized last minute when CYC operation team was pressuring us to check that everything was packed. We were informed after, when we found the storage location, that CYC will unwrap all the furniture to take back cover they put in. So new storage location has to re-wrap everything, obviously not taking liability on anything. It cost us 1/2 of the moving cost in additional repacking fee!
6) when final cleaning the house, we found out item left around in the cabinet that were not packed.
7) we never heard back from CYC mover as soon as we made the payment. No excuses, nothing.
Overall, we found issue at every level of their organization either sale, operation, support. We don't recommend CYC mover for any move due to their careless attitude.
I've been moving house around 10 times in my life, and it a the first time I got such issues. When raising my concern to their management, they just don't entertain. Really disappointed and hopefully my testimony can help other to make a better choice.Read more
