CM Relocation

I recently moved from Singapore to Kolkata, India. Before finalising the Mover, I checked the rating of Movers in Singapore and found CM Relocations(CMR) is rated very high and accordingly I chose them for my household items shipment. However, at the end of the day, I had an extremely bitter experience with this Mover and hence I feel it is my duty to post my honest review about this mover. I strongly advise not to engage this Mover, at least from Singapore to Kolkata.
I now explain my experience with this Mover in seriatim.
1) First, they quoted me for my entire 3-BR house movement. Later, I decided not to move any of my furniture, but inspitebof huge reduction of voluem due to this, they gave me only token discount and so they are not honest.
2) They initially said that it takes 4-6 weeks for the shipment to reach destination. Accodingly, we made a plan that on our way back from Singapore to Kolkata, we will stop over some other place and spend some time there. Our entire vacatrion plan was made accordingly. Suddenly they said that I have to be in Kolkata immediately for customs clearance. Then, I requested them to postpone thee shimpent by next ship, but for that they demanded a very high amount from me. Hence, they are not honest. Finally, I cut short my entire trip, for which I had to spend a huge amount unnecessarily and our vacation was also fully spoiled.
3) The worst part of it was, after rushing back to Kolkata, I had to wait for exactly 1-month to receive my items. During this 1-month, I was frantically following up with thier India agent, Maxwell Relocations(MWR) and they always used to give me wrong feedback. I was absolutely frustrated and puzzled on what is going on. Due this huge delay, my next assignement got heavily affected and I have been affected financially.
4) After receiving the items, I found many of my precious Fragile items were broken. This is specially due to very poor packing quality of CMR and also very poor handling of delivery by Maxwell in India.
So, if anyone wants to take my suggestion, please dont engage this Mover.

Hence, it was a real nightmare for me with the above shipment, Once the ship left from Singapore, there was no service at all from CMR, Singapore office. Most surprisingly, they dont pick-up any phone (even in case of emergency) after 5PM. On the otherhand their Indian agent MWR is also highly unprofessional in managing the whole thing.Read more

From initial contact, through the complete planning of our goods getting delivered and the greatest packing experience I’ve ever had, CM were outstanding. Everything done on time, professionally and competently, they were an absolute dream to deal with. Highly recommend them to anyone who has to relocate.

Definitely 10/10 in all aspects (sales quotation, packing, shipping, receiving, after service and price). I requested to ship my vehicle, piano, bicycle, baby cot and around 12 boxes of personal belongings from Singapore to New Zealand. Of the several companies (some of which are most reputable) that I contacted, only CM quoted that I could fit everything in one 20 ft container. Every other company had quoted for either a 40ft container, or separate shipping of my vehicle and household effects. In order to clarify my doubts (arising from the difference in opinion provided by other companies) [name removed by Sirelo] (the sales person) kindly visited my home to perform the calculations.

Packing - I could not be more impressed with the contractors that CM engaged. They were highly efficient in their packing, managing to fit more than I had expected into the allocated space. The packers were patient and accommodating to all our requests, which required innovative repacking of our many odd shaped belongings.

Container Loading - I had witnessed all my belongings being securely loaded into the container. The scaffolding, latching, canvasing etc. were professionally completed with picture evidences also provided. Indeed, the calculations provided by [name removed by Sirelo] and executed by the packers were extremely precise with 0 space wastage. In addition, [name removed by Sirelo] also recommended that I fill up the boot of the vehicle to maximize utility, something which the other companies also disallowed.

Receiving - All the goods were received in perfect condition, a testament to the professional packing and loading by CM Relocations. Transworld International and Efficient Movers (NZ partners engaged by CM), were also efficient and meticulous in handling of my belongings.

Administrative support - Despite the many administrative procedures required (especially with shipping a vehicle), CM relocations and its partners had worked to ensure smooth delivery, dealing with custom clearance, vehicle registration and checks. Transworld International and Efficient Movers had ensured my vehicle to be registered within 3 days of arrival, despite having been told of a 3 month waitlist by the registration authorities. Price wise CM Relocations was by far the cheapest, given that they managed to pack everything into a 20 ft container, and I was also allowed to utilize the space in the boot of my vehicle.

Overall - CM Relocations provided the best moving experience possible. Sincerely grateful to the CM team for the accurate quotation and professional services. They made cheap and good possible.Read more
